Stonebridge Wire is an independent UK digital news publication covering the stories that matter in Britain and around the world.
From breaking news and politics to business, money, technology, consumer affairs, property and entertainment, our aim is straightforward: to provide accessible, useful and engaging journalism without unnecessary noise.
Founded by Tim Todd, Stonebridge Wire was created to build a broad independent news publication capable of covering both the biggest stories of the day and important developments that can sometimes be overlooked.
We believe good journalism should help readers understand not only what has happened, but why it matters.
What we cover
Stonebridge Wire provides general news coverage across a wide range of subjects, including UK and world news, politics and public affairs, business and the economy, personal finance, consumer affairs, technology and artificial intelligence, science, health, the environment, crime and justice, property, travel, transport, charities and social affairs, lifestyle and entertainment.
We don’t currently cover sport. There are plenty of people considerably more enthusiastic about it than we are.
Alongside breaking and developing stories, we aim to publish interviews, features, explainers, analysis and original reporting.
Our approach
Stonebridge Wire is independent.
Our editorial decisions are based on whether we believe a story is accurate, relevant and worthwhile for our readers. Coverage is not guaranteed because an organisation has sent us a press release, invited us to an event or provided access to a product, service or spokesperson.
Where appropriate, we seek information directly from organisations, public bodies and individuals involved in the stories we cover. We may also report from official documents, company filings, regulatory decisions, government publications, public records, research and other reliable sources.
Accuracy matters to us. Where a significant factual error is identified, we aim to correct it clearly and promptly.
As Stonebridge Wire grows, so will the breadth and depth of our original journalism.
Who is behind Stonebridge Wire?
Stonebridge Wire was founded by Tim Todd, an independent publisher and the Founder and Editor of entertainment publication Sounds & Stage.
Through Sounds & Stage, Tim has developed experience working with PR agencies, venues, producers, publicists and organisations across the entertainment industry, alongside publishing news, interviews, features and reviews.
Stonebridge Wire is a completely separate editorial publication with a much broader remit.
While Sounds & Stage remains focused on theatre, music and live entertainment, Stonebridge Wire covers general news and current affairs across the UK and internationally.
